Mini Golf Program Fits To
A Tee
Physical therapist and golfer Catherine Gerson
is offering a mini golf program to get you in shape and ready for that
first round of golf this spring. The Mind Body Connection will improve
your flexibility, your swing and your mental game.
Catherine has teamed up with a PGA pro who runs The Golf School, the
largest indoor driving range and putting surface in Boston. Their three-hour
program consists of a one-hour swing and video analysis at The Golf
School at the Radisson Hotel in Boston and a two-hour golf-specific
fitness program with Catherine at the Brae Burn Country Club, Newton.
"My philosophy is to teach people to take care of their bodies
so they can prevent injuries and muscle soreness and complete the last
hole with nearly the same high energy level as they felt at the first
tee," said Catherine. "Whatever
exercise program
you chose should be simple and fun."
Using the Swiss exercise ball and stretch resistance bands, Catherine
teaches the basics of stretching and toning, shows how to avoid injuries
specific to golf, gives tips, techniques, and exercise drills that can
easily be done at home.
Golf
pros and
amateurs have
embraced Catherines Mind Body Program.
" Catherines exercise program is a regular part of my routine.
It has improved my balance during my swing," said Joe Starcez,
PGA golf professional at Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club. "The
exercise ball
has become a major component of my golf game."
Small group instruction,
$200 per person. Gift certificates are available. For more information,

PowerAngle™
Racket..." A new angle on comfort."
Catherine recommends using
the PowerAngle tennis racket for preventing tennis elbow as well as
the benefit of adding additonal ball spin during play. PowerAngle is
ergonomically designed for tennis players who hit a ball with repetitive
power and need to maintain muscle strength and health in their arm and
wrist and avoid injury from overuse.
Physicians, occupational and physical
therapists endorse the PowerAngle diagonal string pattern because of
the larger "sweet spot hitting surface" which reduces the
impact of string vibration felt by the arm. The equal length diagonal
stringing absorbs shock more than the conventional combination of short
cross strings and longer main strings on the racket frame.
